With the rapid development of the society and economy, vehicle cameras have been widely used and can be seen everywhere in our daily life. Vehicles such as buses, taxis, coaches and subways have all installed vehicle cameras to protect our safety and property while traveling.
Customers often send us pictures of the appearance of car monitoring cameras and ask us to provide similar products, inquiring about specific requirements and parameters. However, the selection of cam for a car is mainly based on the following parameters and types.
The most commonly used shapes for vehicle cameras are hemispherical, conical, square and miniature cameras. Hemispherical and conical cameras are mostly used for non-waterproof monitoring inside the vehicle, square cameras are made of metal and have good waterproof performance, and are mainly used at the top of the back of buses to monitor the situation outside the vehicle, as well as for monitoring the situation outside of trucks. Miniature cameras are more commonly used on taxis and can often be seen on the front seats of the passenger side.
The shooting distance is matched according to the requirements of the scene. The shooting distance of the camera is related to the size of the photosensitive chip and the focal length of the lens. Generally, conventional lenses have focal lengths of 2.8mm, 3.6mm, 6mm, and 8mm. Most cameras use lenses with focal lengths of 2.8mm, 3.6mm, and 6mm, and the shooting distance is about 5M to 10M, which is sufficient for use on buses and coaches.
Solutions for vehicle cameras are generally divided into two types: CCD and CMOS, as well as color cameras and black and white cameras. CCD is mainly used for Japanese-made Sony solutions, and the main advantages of CCD cameras are good sensitivity and low light performance. CMOS cameras have more solutions, commonly used in the Korean and American markets, and the main advantage is that they are cheaper. The disadvantage is that the low light sensitivity is not as good as CCD, which is also a parameter that needs to be confirmed.
The camera outputs an analog signal, which can be directly connected to our TV or LCD display. The interface is usually an AV interface, BNC interface, four-core aviation interface, etc. All three types of interfaces are used, but the four-core aviation interface is the most commonly used for vehicle cameras because it is stable and not easily affected by vibration.
